In 1982, ICOMOS established 18 April as International Monuments and Sites Day, followed by its adoption by UNESCO at its 22nd General Conference. Each year, on this occasion, ICOMOS proposes a theme for the activities to be organised by its members, national and international scientific committees, partners and anyone else wishing to participate in the celebration of this Day. This year the main theme will be ‘Cultural Heritage and Climate’, for which ICOMOS strongly invites people to show the different ways in which heritage can be a source of knowledge that can be used to tackle climate change and improve the social sustainability of our architectures.
The After the Damages International Academy and CSN ICOMOS “CIPA-HD, documentazione del Patrimonio Culturale” have organised a joint webinar on the 19 April from 14:00-18:00 CET with simultaneous translation in English and Portuguese. The full programme and registration options are available on the After the Damages website (English and Italiano).
